What happens if you don't answer the door for FedEx? ›

If you missed your delivery, we'll leave a door tag for you. It has a number that's associated with your package's original tracking number and the steps you can take to locate your package.

At a local FedEx facility means that your package has arrived at a local FedEx facility and is awaiting the next steps to move toward its final destination. If your package status is 'At a local FedEx facility': Your package is still on its journey.

Packages in the FedEx system receive scans at various points between pickup and delivery. If you are not home to sign for your package, a doortag will be left at your door and the driver may reattempt delivery. To avoid missed deliveries, sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager, where you will be able to sign electronically or give special instructions for delivery.

We'll reattempt to deliver your package the following day. Generally, we make deliveries from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries.

FedEx offers a money-back guarantee for certain transportation services subject to the FedEx Express Terms and Conditions of Carriage. This money-back guarantee can be suspended, modified or revoked by FedEx at any time and without prior notice.

Your package will be held at the indicated location for 5 business days, after which time it may be returned to the shipper. You may request another delivery attempt by calling customer support.
