This past May, I graduated from University of North Carolina Wilmington. While completing my degree in Communication Studies, I was a part of a special community of outstanding professors and peers. I want to specifically thank Christopher Stuart, PhD for mentoring and supporting me through an independent study in Desktop Publishing, where he awarded me an undergraduate research award. The past four years I spent at this university have been an amazing journey, and I am excited to use the skills I have learned in my next steps.

Very excited to be a part of this publication! Higher ed friends, especially those of you who work with grad students and postdocs: please check out this new book! (DM me for a discount code from Purdue Press, if you want to buy a copy.) There are lots of non-tenure track options within higher ed, and the key is to start exploring them early. Check out my chapter "'This Isn't What I Thought It Would Be': Building New Identities and Skills in the Academy," co-authored with my friend and colleague Heather Dwyer. https://lnkd.in/eQbvCbNu

An exciting moment this week for Boston University! Our new President has taken the lead!Given my role in our central IT department, supporting the operations side of the University in many ways, I'm especially excited (and maybe challenged?) by the quote below. I look forward to hearing more of how she sees this:"One of the reasons I speak about operations is that high-quality operations give you a reliable outcome. And that’s how a large complex organization excels—through reliable experiences, high-quality student experiences, high-quality faculty and staff experiences, and making impactful research. All of that is by being strongly and intentionally focused on strategy and operations within a positive culture."https://lnkd.in/eBiXs3qP
