From the Barons

Greetings unto the Barony!

As we move into the winter months, many of us are planning trips to visit friends and family near and far, including our extended SCA families. Traditionally, our Barony has hosted a Baronial Holiday gathering, and we wish to continue this. To help us plan, we’d like the members of the Barony to submit responses to our poll by Sunday, October 14th (our next Barony meeting), located here: https://goo.gl/forms/iNO4RnOpopHnRvLF3

We have some events coming up soon that folks may want to put on their calendars:

See event listings below and locally –
October 27th: STEMFest/Maker Faire Demo @ NIU Convocation Center, 9am – 5pm

Did you know that we have an all new awards submission form? We do! As part of the Carraig Ban website updates, we’ve rolled out a Baronial Awards submission form. You can find it here: https://goo.gl/forms/ohVjH4sXJROgeUHE2

If you have any suggestions for us on activities, demos, or events, please let Baron Honda or myself know!

In Service,
Thegn Samson Muskovich

From the Chatelaine

Carraig Ban cares about its people, and what barony would be better served naked? None! That is why we’ve have tried to reconcile the many items generously donated to Gold Key into a centralized location in the care of the chatelaine. These items of clothes have been donated over the years to ensure that the most forgetful of long-time members and the freshest of newbies alike have sparkling, useful clothes to garb their person at events such that they feel involved and welcome! These items are currently going through a catalog and repair process so that not ONLY are there many available, but a public access document will list the general range of ages, sizes, and eras of clothing available.  Furthermore, repair and upkeep of the items is a baronial concern, and periodically A&S meetings will feature repair days. For more information, contact the office of the chatelaine, currently Akiyama Kazuhiko, at satal.derihannsu [at] gmail.com.

Thank you very much!
Akiyama Kazuhiko
